Protected
In this session, we will be looking at Psalm 91. This song is loaded with promises of God's protection (22 of them). Our God is a promise-maker and a promise-keeper. He is faithful and true. He has never broken a promise.
The theme of this song is God's protection in spiritual warfare. It talks about the attacks against God's people by our spiritual enemy and the traps our enemy sets to trip us up.
The Bible teaches that there is a very real but invisible enemy who wants to deceive us, drag us into sin, and render us ineffective as a Christian. Jesus called that enemy the devil = accuser; Satan = adversary.
Satan is the enemy of God and His people. Satan isn’t all-powerful, but he is strong. He isn’t all-knowing; but he is cunning and clever. He’s not all-present, but he does have an organized army of demons assisting him. You don’t have to fear him, but you should be on guard and expect him to do what he has always done. So we fight!
