Set Apart & Sent Out
In this session, we are going to see how God set apart Barnabas & Saul for a special assignment, how the church sent them out to do it, and how God is still doing that with us today.
Remember the church at Antioch? This is where they saw all those idol-worshiping Greeks turn to Jesus, and Barnabas & Saul spent a year there discipling those new Christians. And it was in Antioch that the word Christian was first used because the church was so visibly like Christ that the city gave them a name for it!
This is a pivotal move in the progress of the church. What happens in Acts 13 is the beginning of the intentional, organized, Spirit-directed missionary movement that will eventually carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth. And it begins with a group of five who were praying and fasting and listening to the Lord.
Please find Acts 12:25-13:12.
