When Stephen was stoned to death, Saul not only approved of it but was pleased by it. That was only the beginning of Saul's persecution of the church. The whole time he was persecuting the church, in his ignorance and unbelief, Saul thought he was doing God a favor in ridding the world of the name of Jesus.
