In this session, we will see the repeating cycle of Israel's rebellion in the face of God's goodness. It was a time when God had been so good to His people; He had given them so many blessings — but they were determined to be unfaithful to Him.

Israel hit rock bottom when the Philistines invaded, slaughtered 30,000 Israelite foot soldiers in a single battle, and stole the Ark of the Covenant from the Tabernacle. She died just after giving birth.

It is almost an understatement to say, this was a time of tragic unfaithfulness for Israel. What is the value of a psalm like this? Looking into the rear-view mirror of Israel’s history, we can see a pattern for how God deals with Christians today when we are unfaithful.

Let's look at Psalm 78:56-66.
