Leanness in Their Souls

As we continue looking at Psalm 106, don't forget that this is one of the longest confessions of sin in the entire Bible. It covers 8 centuries of Israel's history.
Verses 13-15 tell us that God sent a leanness to their souls. Leanness is the opposite of healthy and thriving. The soul is sick and starving without the presence and the blessing of God. It would be better to have a lean body and a healthy soul than a lean soul and a healthy body.
