A Call to Worship

Mar 24, 2019    Pastor Dan Spencer

In Session 6, we studied Psalm 78 which used Israel’s history as a cautionary tale, because it focused on their rebellion in the face of God’s goodness. Consequently, it is a sobering, challenging psalm that was meant (I think) to produce repentance and a new commitment to faithfulness.

In this session, Psalm 105 focuses on giving praise to a God who is eternally faithful: He keeps His promises, He is good to His people, and He does amazing things through imperfect human leaders like Abraham, Joseph, and Moses. It goes through the great promises God made and the ways God was faithful in the past.

This psalm begins with a strong statement of praise and then ends in the same way, with the strongest word of praise in the Hebrew language, the command Hallelujah (praise the Lord).

Let’s read this call to worship in Verses 1-5.
