Cities of Refuge

In this session, we will be looking at “cities of refuge.” These cities reveal something about the very character of God the Father and about the ministry His Son, Jesus Christ, would have.

We know that God is the giver of life and human life is precious to Him. And that taking another person’s life is a serious offense to Him. In fact, it is an attack on the very image of God. It violates that which is sacred and precious to Him.

God values human life so highly that He requires justice for a life that is killed. Doesn’t matter how it happened, accidental or intentional – God demanded justice, a life for a life. That’s why He provided for the “avenger of blood”.
