Help Me, Lord

In this series, we are learning to stop focusing on selfish, sinful things and to refocus our eyes on the Lord. Scripture will always bring clarity on ourselves, our world, and our God. The Bible is like a pair of glasses you put on that takes the picture from fuzzy to focused.

As we look at Psalm 25:15-22, we are not sure what David was going through when the Lord gave him this musical prayer. But our best guess is that it was written during the rebellion of David’s son Absalom – a very ugly period of family tragedy, political drama, betrayal, and death. It was a time that was incredibly difficult for King David. It was a time of loneliness and feeling overwhelmed by his problems.

What does David do with all that? He brings it to the Lord! It is clear that he sees the Lord as his only hope and help. This is a great model for us.

What do we do with our problems when they become overwhelming?
