The Purpose Myth

What if we mess up the purpose God has planned for us? What if we end up wasting years chasing something else, something trivial and selfish? What if we make a series of foolish choices, what if we make a mistake that ruins our reputation, what if that major we chose and that career path that was supposed to get us to our dreams didn’t get us there? And now we feel like we've missed it, we've disappointed God, we blew it.

Many of us believe that God has a purpose and plan for our life, but if we don’t follow it perfectly, we ruin God’s plan for us – to the point that we are disqualified. When that happens (sin, failure, lack of faith), we have ruined God’s plan. We wasted our chance to live out God’s purpose for our life, so God will never be able to use us like He wanted to use us.
