There are very few people in the world who are so well-known that they are recognized by a single name all over the world. You might think of Plato, Luther, Elvis, or Tiger. But standing above them all, outshining them all, overshadowing them all, is the name above every name, the one name: the name of Jesus!

One name. And yet, Jesus is so awesome that the Bible adds to His name dozens of titles and descriptions. We call them “the names of Jesus”. We are looking at some of them in this series as we read the Christmas story in Matthew 1-2.  

In this session, we will focus on the name which connects Him with Old Testament prophecy and describes His identity. Please find Matthew 1:18-25 and specifically Verse 23.
