The Life of Saul/Paul

You are probably familiar with Saul but let’s look back over his life. During the younger years, he had a strict Jewish upbringing. As he grew, he learned Scripture at the Temple. He loved his family and he loved the Temple. Doesn’t sound so bad, doesn’t it?

He was so passionate about what he believed that he began fighting for his cause. He couldn’t get past his religion and the traditions to be able to hear what God was trying to say to him. A good thing becomes a bad thing when it takes the place of the best thing.

Jesus didn’t come to abolish the old covenant and their ways but He came to fulfill it. Yet Paul couldn’t see it. So, he determined to stop the young Christian movement. As a result, he began to persecute the true followers of Christ. He was even there when Steven was stoned as Saul gave his approval.

Did this cause God to turn His back on Saul? Absolutely not! Let’s see what happened as we study Acts 9.
