Generational Echoes

When you put imperfect, sinful people together in a family, the stage is set for crazy things to happen. Then when you add unforeseen changes and crises (somebody dies, gets sick, loses a job), add the pressure of overextended schedules, add some sinful and selfish choices – and what you get is a lot of craziness that can only be resolved when we trust in God.

When we leave God out, we end up with damage and dysfunction. We end up with problems that can echo from generation to generation. You can see this in the family of Jacob. The story of his family gives up hope, because we see the hand of God at work.
