Database Manager
The Database Manager oversees and manages the Church Management System (ChMS) Database. This role is the principal project manager for database deliverables and implementing related training resources.

This is a full-time position that will work an anticipated 40 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Occasional after-hours support may be required for urgent issues that prevent ministry from occurring. During certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

- Manage processes governing ChMS procedure and data integrity.
- Actively research and review ChMS updates and documentation from the vendor to be the organization’s subject matter expert.
- Assist the external IT providers in shaping the overall development and support strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and expected deliverables.
- Participate in data related strategy sessions with department leadership to help operationalize the mission and vision of the organization.
- Responsible for producing data solutions including reporting, data migration rules, workflow management, or other detailed deliverables.
- Ensures projects are completed on time and they meet the requirements of the stakeholders.
- Reviews completed projects with stakeholders to evaluate challenges and lessons learned.
- Provide advanced support of data systems as needed for escalated issues.
- Determine if a support request should be a project, based on time and resource needs, and manage the project backlog accordingly.
- Follow Operations Support department specified guidelines to establish priority and meet response times.
- Seek continuing education and ChMS community networking opportunities to promote personal growth and advance the overall capabilities of the organization.
- Help maintain IT related documentation.
- Manage the fixed assets inventory and database through the use of fixed asset software.
- Develop and oversee systems training for organization personnel.
- Provide insight to industry practices to the Operations Support department and organization as applicable.
- Expected to uphold confidentiality of all data, written, digital, or otherwise, in addition to any network and application security policies enacted by the organization.
Education and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
- Additional project management training and/or certification is a plus.
- Experience with data driven application management, specifically church management systems, financial systems, and/or complex content management systems.
- Knowledge and experience with HTML, Python and SQL.
- Must be an advanced Microsoft 365 user.
- High degree of initiative and accountability required.
- Must exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Must be adept at problem solving and learning new applications.
- Must be able to think critically and logically.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
